I know what you’re thinking: “Why would I hire someone to do something I can do myself?” but the fact is, you haven’t done it yourself. In fact, if I were a betting woman, I’d go out on a limb and guess that the reason you are in this disorganized state to begin with is due less to a lack of knowledge than to a lack of action.
“Did she just call me lazy?” Well, maybe, but I also can’t say I blame you! After all, being organized is quite literally my job and beyond that, it is also something I am passionate about that brings me peace and fulfillment. So, here is the down and dirty list of reasons why you need me (not to toot my own horn or anything):
I will make your life so much easier.
Envision your home as a calming oasis where everything has a place and chaos is a thing of the past. Whatever you need, whenever you need it – it’s not just the motto of the W Hotel. It’s better than being on vacation because you still have access to all of your stuff if you so desire. If not, well, you will not have to gaze upon said stuff in non-designated places or at inopportune times. Stuff exists to fulfill actual needs and not just for the sake of its own existence.
I will tailor an organizational solution to suit your lifestyle and needs.
I have been doing this for a long time and know that what works for one person or family does not necessarily work for another. Everyone’s lifestyles are different and therefore demand different organizational solutions with varying degrees of specificity. What might work well for a single person won’t work for a family with kids and vice versa. This is where my hands-on approach comes in…handy, as I assess every aspect of my clients’ lifestyles and the way they utilize their various spaces to design solutions specific to their needs.
I will put systems in place that will be easy to maintain.
Ah, the great fear that when I leave everything will go back to the chaos that preceded my organizational magic. Fret not, as this is where I shine. You might describe it as a hard reset of your previous way of life and cluttered thinking, and something that must be experienced to be understood. You will remember that consistency is key and that all things have their place, and for the outlier that doesn’t yet have a place you will have learned how to create one. I will have facilitated gorgeous, streamlined spaces that practically organize themselves going forward.
It is money well spent.
I’m not trying to put words in your mouth, but trust me when I tell you that from a cost/benefit perspective, the investment in healthy, well-functioning spaces in your life will reward you in dividends. In the same way one rationalizes a not-so-cheap pair of jeans because they’re worn so often, your home or office certainly deserves some thoughtful investment of their own when considered in terms of a per-use basis.
Your mental health will thank you.
Last by not least, and perhaps the most significant reason of all to create spaces that are the opposite of crazy-making, ie. serenity-inducing, is that the invisible but palpable weight of chaos will be lifted from around your shoulders and replaced with a feeling of calm. You will have clarity of thought, improved sleep, and more efficient processes when it comes to “getting ready” for things. I won’t go so far as to promise clairvoyance, but you’ll be pretty damn close.
So, while you could go out and buy the books, read the blogs, and watch Marie Kondo until you’ve convinced yourself you can lip read in Japanese, I also invite you to save yourself the trouble and let me help you take a load off, literally and metaphorically. Because most of the time, it’s worth calling the professionals.
